The man on the sidelines won't be the only thing different about SMU football this season.

The SMU athletic department just announced uniform changes that will take place this season. The Mustangs will return to white helmets with a red mustang outlined in blue and have the option of wearing red, white or blue jerseys all with white pants.

DENTON, Texas (AP) - Two Denton animal shelter workers have been suspended without pay after a dog was mistakenly euthanized there. The city had picked up a 3-year-old black Labrador mix named Amicus on May 8 after the dog escaped from the yard of its owners, Shawn Snider and Beth Bayless-Snider.

Dr. William B. Stallcup Jr. spent four decades of his life serving SMU. First he was a student, then he became a teacher and administrator. He eventually became the president ad interim following the NCAA death penalty ruling in 1986.

PLANO, Texas (AP) _ Plano police say the driver of a car that ran a red light and caused a five-fatality accident was traveling at nearly 100 mph.

Services were held Friday for three members of a Plano family and for two foster children who died when their minivan was struck shortly after the five left church Sunday.

This summer, residents literally can witness the history of wind power at the American Wind Power Center and Museum.

Two instructors at Texas Tech's College of Architecture are working on a mural project at the windmill museum's covered patio area.

The project is self-funded by the windmill museum, said Coy Harris, the museum's director.

Juneteenth celebrations took place in Lubbock on Saturday morning, with the highlight being the parade that ended at the Mae Simmons Community Center.

People of all ages lined the streets waiting to see parade floats boarded by people ready to toss candy to the audience watching from the curb.
